I’m in the process of working with a rain sensor to send a signal to my Arduino microcontroller to notify me when it detects rain. The sensor itself comes built in with a ton of interesting features for different methods of detecting rain. This is part of my much larger goal to implement a rain sensor into my solar motor kits. Therefore, when the solar kit detects rain, it will trigger the motors to activate for a fixed period of time.
Below is a video showing myself spraying the sensor with water to simulate rain droplets. As soon as it detects it, it sends a signal to the microcontroller to update text on the OLED screen.
